✓ GitHub on Anvil (Setting up ssh keys)
As soon as possible, set up your ssh key for GitHub on Anvil. ssh key are the way for GitHub to verify that you are who you say you are. This will allow you to push and pull code from your team’s repository and collaborate with your team members on GitHub.

What: Set up ssh key on GitHub for Anvil. There is nothing to submit for this item.
✓ Professional Development
The Data Mine Corporate Partners program is a professional development program. We want to help you develop the skills you need to be successful in your career. We will have a variety of professional development activities throughout the semester.
When: Due Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at 11:59 PM ET. Late work will not be accepted.
Where: Complete the knowledge check for this professional development training on Gradescope in the assignment "Sprint 1: Professional Development".
Each sprint you will complete a few professional development related tasks. To begin, let’s review resumes, virtual meeting expectations, email communications and time management. Resume Update
What: Review assignment 1 of Resume and Complete Mock Interview Assignment and write a reflection in "Sprint 2: Professional Development".
Why: Updating your resume is crucial for career fairs because it ensures that your most recent accomplishments, skills, and experiences are highlighted. Presenting a polished resume at the Career Fair will help you get your dream internship/job
Virtual Meeting Expectations
What: Please read and watch the video about how to effectively participate in a virtual meeting and take the quiz in Gradescope.
Why: The Data Mine Corporate Partners students meet with their Corporate Partner Mentors online via Microsoft Teams every week. Being able to conduct yourself professionally in a virtual setting is an important skill for students to develop in The Data Mine.
Email Communication
What: Read the following article on How to Write a Formal Email (5 minutes).
Why: Effective email communication is crucial in today’s professional world. Mastering this skill enhances productivity, demonstrates professionalism, and can significantly impact your career success.
Time Management
What: You have the option to read about or watch the videos about the following 3 Time Management Techniques. Then, answer the reflection question in Gradescope.

Why: Learning about different time management techniques and effectively incorporating them into you everyday routine helps you optimize your productivity, reduce stress, and achieve a better work-life balance. By understanding various techniques, you can find the methods that work best for your personal and professional needs.

When: Due Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 11:59 PM ET. Late work will not be accepted.
What: Answer the questions in the Sprint #1 Report accessed on Gradescope. You will write your answers directly in the Gradescope assignment.
